Data Storage in People ExplorerLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

The data that you load into People Explorer using CSV files may contain personal and confidential information. We recommend the following precautions:

  • Do not map confidential fields to the People Explorer database.

The People Explorer database is designed to store personal information that is not confidential. Storing confidential information may not comply with required regulations.

  • During the process of loading data to People Explorer, a local copy of the CSV file is saved on a shared folder of the Java Application Server.

Make sure that this folder ( \SIX\SYS\global\tc~spaces.apps~6degrees~server) has the required permissions (at the operating system level).

    Note

When the data load process is complete, the CSV file is deleted from the folder.

  • The index files of People Explorer reside in the following folder:

    \j2ee\cluster\server0\temp\tc~spaces.apps~6degrees~server\tenants\espaces\lucene

Make sure that this folder has the required permissions (at the operating system level).

Note
  • The files reside on the master node, and are made available to all other nodes by sharing. The exact method of sharing depends on the operating system.

  • Deactivating People Explorer removes all data from the database and the index files.
