You add content to pages by dragging Web content and portal content from the Page Content panel onto the page. Rename content items by double-clicking the title bar and entering a new name.

Prerequisites

You are a page author or manager.

Procedure

Adding Content from the Page Content Panel
  1. In the editor dropdown list, select Content and choose Edit.

    The page is now in edit mode. The Page Content panel appears on the right side of the page.

  2. Drag content items from the Page Content panel into containers on the page. Some content items require initial configuration or may have properties that you can modify.

    You can drop more than one item into a container.

  3. To remove content items from the page, in the title bar of the content item, choose Delete (Delete). In the Page Content panel, the object appears in the Unassigned Content list. You can drag content from this list back onto this page. ChooseDelete Item (Delete Item) to remove the content item permanently.

Adding Web Content to the Page

You can add Web content such as articles to the containers of a page. You can add more than one Web content item to a page. Each container may have a list of allowed content types. You can add existing Web content stored in a KM shared content folder (for example, the Global Shared Content folder) or create new Web content using Web content templates.

  1. In the Page Content panel, select the source location that contains the Web content that you want to add to the page.

  2. Navigate to the relevant KM folder for shared content, drag the iView of the Web content item that you want to add to the container, and drop it.

You can also create Web content in a page by dragging the respective Web content template iView to a page container. The system opens the relevant Web content editor in a new window.

Adding Existing Content to a Page
  1. In the Page Content panel, expand one of the following repositories:

    • Portal Repository: Contains iViews and pages that reside in a Portal Catalog folder defined by your portal administrator.

    • Global Shared Content: Provides access to content located in the Global Shared Content folder in the content library.

    • Shared Content in this Area: Provides access to content saved in the Shared Content folder of this area.

    • Content Library Staging Area: Allows you to find content in the areas and folders located in the staging area in the content library.

  2. Select the content item and drag it onto the page.

Adding URL iViews to a Page

You can use iView templates to create new application iViews within the page editor. By default, the URL iView template is supplied with Web Page Composer, but your portal administrator can provide additional iView templates.

  1. From the Content Templates section of the Page Content panel, drag the URL iView item onto the page.

  2. In the content template, choose Options (Options) and then choose Settings.

    The Properties editor opens in a separate window, displaying a subset of the iView properties defined by the portal administrator.

  3. In the Properties editor, enter the relevant URL and save your changes.
