Using the Web page Composer you can create RSS Link Lists within your Web pages. RSS Link Lists can refer to other Web Page Composer Web pages or external Web sites.

Procedure

Enabling RSS Feed from a WPC Web Page

In order to use the RSS functionality between two Web Page Composer Web pages, you need to perform certain steps for the RSS source Web page as well as for the Web page that contains the RSS Link List.

Specify the RSS Relevant Content of the Source Web Page
  1. In the content editor, open the general properties of the Web page that you want to use as an RSS source for editing.

To do so, choose General Properties in the dropdown list in the content area of the page editor.

  2. In the Runtime Settings screen area, select RSS, and save your entries.

This setting allows the Web page to be used as an RSS source Web page.

  3. Specify the Web content items (such as an article or a teaser) that are to be used in the RSS feed and enable the RSS functionality for them.

Perform the following procedure for each Web content item:

    1. Open the relevant Web content item for editing.

    2. In the document properties screen area, select the Include in RSS checkbox.

    3. Optional: Fill in the Description field.

The text entered in the Description field is visible in the RSS feed. Thus it enables visitors to easily choose the content that is relevant for them.

    4. Optional: Change the File Name of the relevant Web content item.

The system uses this name as a title for the relevant object in the RSS link list.

  4. Publish the Web page.

  5. Choose RSS (RSS) from the top left-hand corner of the Web page and copy the generated URL of the RSS feed to the clipboard.

Create an RSS Link List and Associate the Source Web Page
  1. Open the content of the Web page where you want to display the RSS feed for editing.

To do so, in the content editor, navigate to the page you want to edit, and in the content area, choose Content from the dropdown list.

  2. Create an RSS link list. For more information, see: Creating an RSS Link List.

  3. In the Link URL field, enter the URL of the RSS feed that you have copied in the previous steps.

  4. Publish the Web page.

Enabling RSS Feed from an External Web Site
  1. Open the content of the Web page where you want to display the RSS feed for editing.

  2. Create an RSS link list.

  3. Copy the URL of the relevant RSS feed from the external Web site and paste it in the Link URL field of the RSS link list editor.

  4. Publish the page.
