You can define the message exchange and process flow for collaborative processes with a Process Integration scenario. This is typically the processes between different business parters that are loosely coupled by exchanging messages.
The Process Integration scenario offers you a central access point to all objects that you need for semantic and technical integration, such as interfaces, mappings, and software components.
An Executable Integration Process can be integrated into a Process Integration scenario.
In the Enterprise Services Repository you can specify Process Integration scenarios in the following way:
Map all business partners involved in the Process Integration scenario and the application components that they implement
Map all interactions where messages are exchanged between different application components
Specify all interactions where messages are exchanged between application components (by assigning interfaces and mappings)
The development environment for Process Integration scenarios consists of two editors:
Process Integration Scenario Editor
The Process Integration scenario editor offers an interactive, graphical working area where you can visualize the process flow of the Process Integration scenario and relate all objects that are used with each other. In this editor you can navigate from the context to the object editors of all objects that are used. The top-down and bottom-up design of Process Integration scenarios is supported.
With the Action Editor you can display and edit actions - not further subdivided activities within the process flow of a Process Integration scenario.
The structure of this chapter is based around the following questions:
What is a Process Integration scenario and how do the parts of a Process Integration scenario work together? For more information on this, see Process Integration Scenarios .
How do I develop a Process Integration scenario with the Enterprise Services Builder? For more information on this, see Process Integration Scenario Design Environment .
How do I model a Process Integration scenario? For more information on this, see Guidelines for Modeling Process Integration Scenarios .
