Layout Service 

Use

 

The layout service is used to store and manage layout profiles and to display thumbnail views of the various layout profiles.

 

Integration

 

If you have activated the layout service for a repository, you can change its appearance by assigning a layout profile to it. By default, you select one of the available layout profiles in the Details dialog box of folders or under Settings → Presentation in the menu.

 

Prerequisites

 

In order to use the layout service, you need to have activated the application property service  in the configuration of a repository manager.

 

Features

 

If you have activated the layout service for a repository, you can specify a different symbol or image to be displayed in a document instead of the default symbol or image. You do this in the Details dialog box for the document in question by choosing Settings → Properties → Miscellaneous.

 

Activities

 

The layout service is activated in the KM standard configuration. No configuration is necessary for this repository service.

 

In order to use the layout service for a repository, you need to register it with the corresponding repository manager. Activate the layout entry in the Repository Services parameter in the configuration of a repository manager. Also activate the properties entry, as the layout service requires the application property service.
