There are two different ways of searching for terms in SAPterm:

  • Searching from the initial screen of SAPterm

This is a simple search method where the system looks through the table keys of the terminology database. These table keys are stored in uppercase, which means that the search is not case-sensitive, and does not consider special characters.

  • Searching using Advanced Search

This search method enables you to define further criteria, for example, if you only want to search for terms within a specific component, or terms created by a specific user. This search is case-sensitive, and can distinguish special characters.

Prerequisites

You have already maintained your default language settings for your user in SAPterm.

The terminology database supports generic searches with "*".

Note Note

For performance reasons, a general search with only "*" is not possible when searching from the initial screen of SAPterm.

End of the note.
