The SAP Management Console (SAP MC) presents information in two panes of a window. The pane on the left is the navigation pane, which displays available information in a tree structure that can be expanded and collapsed. The pane on the right is the result pane, which shows detailed information about any item selected in the navigation pane.
The system icons and the nodes for instances, processes, and alerts are displayed in different colors depending on their state. The colors indicate the following:
Gray: Unknown state, only outdated values, system is offline
Green: Running
Yellow: Starting or stopping or warning
Red: Error
To access detailed information about your SAP system, you have to expand the Java or central services instance fully and then select an item. Once an item has been selected, the corresponding information is displayed in the result pane. The following table summarizes the available options:

Displays the most serious alerts in the system. |
Current Status |
Displays detailed information about the current state of the system. It allows you to navigate to different categories of system information and levels of detail. |
Queue Statistics |
Displays the status of the ICM queues. You have to refresh the information manually. |
AS ABAP WP Table |
Displays a list of the work processes in AS ABAP and detailed information. More information: Displaying and Controling Work Processes in the Application Server ABAP documentation. |
Access Points |
Displays the communication ports used by the system. . |
Process Table |
Displays information about the application server processes. The application server has to be started, but does not have to be functioning properly since the shared memory of the application server is accessed. You have to refresh the information manually. |
Caches |
Displays monitoring information about the performance and content of the caches in the Java instance. A red cache icons do not indicate problems in the system, but rather that the caches with red icons have not yet provided a performance value to the system or have not yet been used. |
Threads |
Displays details and statistics for the threads managed by the application server. |
Sessions |
Displays details and statistics for the application server HTTP/HTTPS sessions. |
Aliases |
Displays a list of the aliases of the currently deployed applications. |
GC History |
Displays statistics and details for the last few garbage collection events. |
Heap Memory |
Displays details about the current size of the application server heap memory. |
EJB Sessions |
Displays details and statistics for the application server EJB sessions. |
Remote Objects |
Displays statistics for the remote objects to which external users are connected at the time of monitoring. |
Shared Object Table |
Displays information about the capacity, current usage and peaks of the shared memory segment of the monitoring. |
AS Java Cluster Messages |
Displays information about the internal communication between the components of the cluster elements. |
ICM |
Displays information about ICM threads, connections, caches, and the proxy list. |
Enqueue Locks |
Displays the existing locks in the lock table. |
Enqueue Statistics |
Displays overall statistics data about the Enqueue Service, lock requests and rejects, request cleanup, and so on. |
Log Files |
Displays the log, trace, and system files. |
You can update the information at any time by choosing (Refresh Selected Objects) from the task bar.
Result Pane
In the result pane, there is an additional filter function (Filter) in the table header for lists that normally have many rows. If you enter data in the filter fields, only matching table rows are displayed. You can use the wildcards * and ? in the filter setting. Use >, < and ! for numerical fields, for example.

>120 = "bigger than 120"
Use the prefix regex:<regular expression> for searching.
In the result pane, you can display the information in various ways as well as disable applied filters. To do so, choose the Settings button in the upper right-hand side corner of the result pane, and then choose the relevant option.
There are several possibilities to sort the columns in the result pane:
First click on the column (descending).
Second click on the column (ascending).
After the third click on the column you see the original view again (unsorted).
Press Ctrl and click on several columns and several columns are sorted.
