Procedure documentationDefining the Search Path for Help Center Files Locate this document in the navigation structure

To be able to search files in the shared network folder for the Help Center, the system needs information about the storage path. You must define a logical path for the respective operating system of the SAP system (SAP Web AS ABAP), which links to the physical path to the network folder. You enter this logical path in a separate step in the Help Center Implementation Guide.

Procedure

1. Create Logical Path to Network Folder
  1. In the SAP system, call transaction FILE.

  2. Choose New Entries and enter a meaningful technical name and short text for the logical file path.

  3. Select the new entry and, in the Logical file path definition dialog structure, double-click the subfolder Assignment of logical to physical file paths.

  4. Choose New Entries and assign the following information to the logical file path:

    • Corresponding syntax group for the operating system of the SAP system (and hence the corresponding syntax for the path specification)

    • Physical path to the network folder followed by the <FILENAME>

The system replaces the placeholder with the physical file name at runtime.

      Note Note

There must be an operating-system-specific separator between the end of the physical path and the placeholder. For example, for the Windows NT syntax group, this is a backslash (\).

      End of the note.
  5. Save the logical path, specifying a transport request.

2. Enter Logical Path in Help Center Implementation Guide

Enter the logical path for the search in the settings for the network folder.
