Activation and Provision of
Data
The following sections explain how you activate aggregates and HPA indexes and fill them with data.
· If you have created or changed an aggregate, you have to activate it and fill it with data before you can use it when you execute a query. See Activating and Filling Aggregates.
· If you have loaded new data packages (requests) to the InfoCube, you have to roll up these data packages into aggregates before the current data is available for reporting on the aggregate. See Rolling Up Data in Aggregates.
· You can make the data load more efficient both when initially filling the aggregate and during rollup. See Loading Data to Aggregates Efficiently.
· Tools are available as additional editing functions for aggregates in order to temporarily deactivate or completely delete aggregates that you no longer want to use for reporting.

· If you have loaded new data packages (requests) to the InfoCube, you have to roll up these data packages into the HPA index before the current data is available in reporting. See Rolling Up Data In HPA Indexes.
· Tools are available as additional editing functions for HPA Indexes in order to temporarily deactivate or completely delete HPA indexes so that you can measure performance or analyze data consistency.
