Layout Design
This process describes the activities required to include shortcuts to data elements in the layout.
You have created a layout.
For more information, see Creating Layouts.
You have assigned a transaction to the layout; the transaction includes the BDoc type name, segment field name, and details of the import and export lists.
For more information, see Assigning Transactions to Layouts.
You have created the data, text, and decision elements required for the layout.
For more information, see Data Element Definition, Text Element Definition, and Decision Element Definition.
Open the layout in Microsoft Word.
The application creates an empty Microsoft Word document when you choose Open on the Layout Information tile.
The layout must start with the processing block, $$$/Anf/, and end with $$$/End/.
Insert the shortcuts.
You must insert the shortcuts of the data, text, and decision elements manually within the processing blocks. Arrange them as you want the data to appear in the document when it is generated.
You can use the features of Microsoft Word to format the content of the layout.
Note
Make sure that a data element or decision element exists for each item in the export list of the layout.
Save the layout.
Caution
Do not close the document until you have saved your entries; otherwise, the changes are not saved.
Do not choose Save in the Microsoft Word document.
Choose the Save pushbutton on the Layout Information tile to save the changes.
