Function documentationAggregation of Claim Items

In general, SAP CRM claims management carries over the product planning granularity of the trade promotion into the claims resolution tree. With trade promotions set up for a large number of individual products rather than for product groups or product categories, the system would generate claim items for each individual product, which would lead to a long list of claim items. This level of detail not only reduces system performance and usability, it is also not required in business since the users manage the promotions and claims at an aggregated product level such as product category or product group.

To overcome performance issues and usability issues, claim items can be aggregated in the same way as fund usage items, using the same Customizing settings.

Integration

Aggregation for claim items is based on that for fund usage items (see Aggregation of Fund Usage Items).

Prerequisites

  • You have activated the following business functions:

    • In SAP CRM: Claims and Funds Management (CRM_CF_1)

    • In SAP ERP: ERP, Integration with Claims and Funds Management (ERP_CF_INTEGRATION_1) and FSCM Functions 3 (FIN_FSCM_CCD_3) (for integration with SAP Dispute Management)

  • You have configured SAP CRM and SAP ERP (see Configuration for TPM with SAP ERP Enhanced Rebate Processing and Funds and Claims Management). In particular, you have configured the following:

    • For each combination of promotion type and sales area, you have set an aggregation type in Customizing for SAP CRM, under Start of the navigation path Customer Relationship Management Next navigation step Trade Promotion Management Next navigation step Trade Promotions Next navigation step Funds Integration Next navigation step Define Settings for Funds Integration Next navigation step Aggregation Type End of the navigation path.

    • You have made sure that the funds consumed by the claims are set up for a level that matches that of the aggregation type.

      Example Example

With fund determination, a claim that aggregates items at product category level cannot determine funds set up for individual products. It can only determine funds set up for product categories.

      End of the example.

Features

  • Claim items, just like fund usage items, can be aggregated at the following levels: product group, product category, or a combination of both.

  • In the claim resolution tree, the system checks the aggregation of the fund usage items for the assigned trade promotion and generates one product dimension claim item per fund usage item. The accrued amounts transferred from SAP ERP are aggregated accordingly.
