Use

You use this procedure to activate an extended contract for modification management and billing.

Prerequisites

You have entered all the additional information required for the extended contract.

You can change or extend this information later, but such modifications may be subject to modification management.

Procedure

Open the extended contract (see Opening an Extended Contract...

       1.      Open the extended contract (see Opening an Extended Contract).

       2.      Click Release Contract.

Result

The extended contract is released, and the original sales document receives user status FREE. You can check the user status in the original sales document by going to the item data screen and choosing the Status tab page.

Modification management is now active, and you can also carry out billing.

Note

In order to be able to carry out billing, you must also release the billing block that is set in the original sales document when an extended contract is created.

Once you have released an extended contract, the Release Contract button is no longer available in the Advanced Order Processing and Billing window. The Active field on the Header Details tab page indicates whether an extended contract has been released. The action of releasing an extended contract is recorded on the Modification History tab page. However, if you create and release the extended contract in the same session, only one entry appears in the history.

You cannot revoke the release of an extended contract.
