Function documentationScenario Analysis

When you have defined your scenarios, you decide which one is the most suitable. To help you do this, you use the scenario-analysis function. You can analyze an individual scenario, or you can compare two scenarios from a scenario set. Based on the analysis, you can decide which scenario you want as the operative scenario.

Prerequisites

In Customizing for Customer Relationship Management (CRM), you have made settings for using analyses from the SAP NetWeaver Business Intelligence (BI) component, by choosing Start of the navigation path Marketing Next navigation step Marketing Planning and Campaign Management Next navigation step Scenario Planning Next navigation step Define Scenario-Based BI Analyses End of the navigation path.

In Customizing for SAP NetWeaver BI, you have defined planning content to indicate if the analysis uses accruals. If you want to consider accruals in your analysis, you have selected an accrual model in your scenario set.

You have assigned a planning profile group to the marketing projects, and planned key figures.

Features

We provide two queries in the standard SAP NetWeaver BI content:

  • Scenario Analysis Without Accruals

  • Scenario Analysis with Accruals

Inactive marketing projects are recognized in analysis in scenario planning, but not in your firm's standard financial reporting. For more information, see Inactive and Active Marketing Projects.
