Inactive and Active Marketing Projects
In scenarios, there are two “states” of marketing projects:
Inactive
Inactive marketing projects are intended for simulation in alternative scenarios.
Active
Active marketing projects are intended for execution.
Marketing projects are by default active.
Because inactive marketing projects are intended for simulation, they are excluded from “normal” financial reporting in the SAP NetWeaver Business Intelligence (BI) component. Active marketing projects are available for BI reports.
However, for comparative analysis in scenarios, the system generates a report based on all the marketing projects in the scenario, regardless of whether they are inactive or active.
You have defined a version number for inactive marketing projects
in Customizing for Customer Relationship Management
(CRM),
by choosing. SAP NetWeaver
BI uses version numbers to differentiate active marketing projects from inactive
ones. Active marketing projects have version number 0000000000
.
We deliver version 1111111111
for inactive
marketing projects.
You create inactive marketing projects in alternative scenarios by copying existing active or inactive ones.
If you set a marketing project to inactive, the system sets all lower-level projects to inactive. If the system cannot set any of them to inactive, you cannot set the higher-level marketing project to inactive.
If you set a marketing project to active, a higher-level marketing project cannot be inactive. If it is, either the higher-level marketing project must be set to active or you cannot continue with the planning.
The reason behind this rule is in operative analysis: reporting usually aggregates the data of the active marketing projects up through the marketing hierarchy. If an active node had an inactive higher-level marketing project, the aggregated values would not be correct.
