Business Function that you also need to activate

INS_FSCD_CI_1

This Business Function enhances the features for Collections/Disbursements. You can use these features to reduce the Total Cost of Ownership and the Days Sales Outstanding, to increase customer satisfaction, and to adjust your application according to legal requirements. If you use this Business Function, you increase flexibility and reduce Integrations. This means lower implementation costs as a result of improved Enterprise Services-based communication with calculating feeder systems and external solutions.

This Business Function also provides improvements in the Item Management, Payments and Payment Plan areas. It also enables the use of new function, especially for the insurance object.

Prerequisites

You have implemented the Business Function Set SAP for Insurance and the business function INS_FSCD_CI_1 is active.

Features

Enterprise Services:

  • You can use the Enterprise Service for InsuranceCollectionDisbursementRequest to transfer collections and disbursements orders to the collections and disbursements system. You can use collections and disbursements orders (InsuranceCollectionDisbursementRequests) for all receivables and payables such as premiums, commissions, reimbursements, salvage, and expenses that are related to an insurance company. The respective Enterprise Services are available in the namespace under http://sap.com/xi/FSCD/Global.

  • The Enterprise Services for clearing and returns are available for reporting results to operational systems. The Enterprise Services for the account balance and for dunning are available for reading information. You can find the appropriate Enterprise Services in the namespace http://sap.com/xi/FICA/Global2.

  • New enterprise services for external cash desk services and submission for collection are available. The previously used file interface for submissions to collections has been replaced. Furthermore, a monitor for external collection services as well as transactions for processing collection agency information and for posting collection agency payments are now available. You can find the appropriate Enterprise Services in the namespace http://sap.com/xi/FICA/Global2.

Integration with Other Application Components

  • Extractors for payments and for the returns history, as well as work items for Collections Management, enhance the analysis options in SAP NetWeaver Business Intelligence (SAP NetWeaver BI).

  • You can transfer clarification cases from SAP Dispute Managment to an external application for further processing. This means that you can, for example, create and process clarification cases in a Customer Interaction Center.

Insurance Object

The processing functions of the insurance object have been enhanced:

  • You can now also use a reference to the contract in the feeder system to uniquely identify the insurance object in the system.

  • In the insurance object, you can define the withholding tax code for incoming payments and the withtholding tax code for outgoing payments. Entering the withholding tax code in the insurance object overwrites the withholding tax code defined in the account.

  • You can now define valid variable withholding tax supplements for outgoing payments. During document posting, these are compared with the variable withholding tax supplements that are to be posted and then they are checked. If valid withholding tax supplements were defined for outgoing payments, you can only post appropriate documents with variable withholding tax supplements if they match the values defined for the insurance object.

  • The processing function for payment plan items has been improved. You can now find individual payment plan items more easily and then display them.

Payment Plan

  • You can now also define validity periods for the lock reasons for payment plan items. These become effective in the following business transactions:

    • Dunning notice

    • Payment

    • Payment Clearing

    • Interest Calculation

  • The Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable (FI-CA) enhancement for variable withholding tax supplements can also take place using the payment plan interface. You can specify this for payment plan items, but calculation for each payment plan subitem takes place automatically.

  • The following new reversal methods are available when you execute a payment plan reversal:

Payments

  • In the payment run you can use preselections for master data to select business partners or contract accounts.

  • In cross-country payment transactions, Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable supports the entry of BIC and IBAN codes instead of the bank number and the bank account number for payment lots and in transfer programs for creating payment lots.

Tax

  • In addition to the surcharges on the withholding tax to be retained, reductions are also possible.

  • You can define any number of withholding tax base amounts and withholding tax percentage rate as well as withholding tax amounts on the Business Partner item level.

Receivables Management

  • In collections management, you can define a series of tests for Champion Challenger Analyses.. For a specified percentage of Champion strategies, you can define Challenger strategies and assign these to master data groups for the analysis.

  • In Collections Management, as well as in classical dunning, you can create workliste in the dunning runs. You can use these as the basis for contacting customers by telephone and for telephony systems.

You can define the responsibilites for processing the worklists on departmental, group, or collector level.

Other Enhancements in Receivables Management

  • You can include partial amounts of receivables in an installment plan. Furthermore, the amount of the first installment can differ from the amount of the subsequent installments. You can also levy additional surcharges, such as inflation-related surcharges, on installment plans.

  • You can execute the automatic posting of receivables according to a time or amount pattern.

  • Classic revenue distribution is available as a mass activity.

In enhanced revenue distribution you can distribute not only receivable items that have been cleared, but also open receivables items and payments on account to the final recipient.

  • You can group items before automatic clearing.

  • For mass activities, you can define the problem class of the reports that the application log issues.

Broker Collection

  • If you post multiple broker reports on a daily basis, you can now use collective reconciliation keys for posting broker reports. This reduces the number of G/L documents created and reduces the pressure on the processes for G/L transfer. Collective reconciliation keys are now no longer exclusively reserved for a broker report, but for all broker reports for a day.

  • You can now set or change the default values for the header data of broker reports yourself.

Coinsurance

In the definition of the coinsurance key, you can define a reference to a coinsurance contract that is managed in the feeder system You can transfer this reference in the data part of the coinsurance information when you create an InsuranceCollectionsDisbursementRequest. The system then determines the coinsurance key to be used.

Customer-Specific Account Determination

You can set up your own customer-specific account determination per client.

Integration with General Ledger Accounting — Account Assignments

  • You can assign Receivables and Payables to a profit center.

  • You can pass on the profict center, the segment , and the business area from the receivables to the tax item. If necessary, you can split tax items and assign them to different accounts.

  • You can assign postings to balance sheet accounts (for example, bank accounts and bank clearing accounts) to one profit center.

Closing Preparations

  • Tto update selected ledgers, you can use ledger groups for postings to Doubtful Entries or Individual Value Adjustments.

  • In the case of value adjustments, you can define an exact value adjustment amount that the system uses to make the individual value adjustment of a receivable.

  • You can create installment plan evaluations for a key date so that installment plans are taken into consideration when you group open items for financial statements.

Country-Specific Enhancements

  • USA

Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable supports the check escheatment process (for checks that have not been cashed by the payee after a specified period of time).
