You have implemented the Business Function Set INSURANCE and the business function INS_FSCD_CI_1 is active.

Features

With the Business Function SAP for Insurance: Collections/Disbursements 1 - the following functions are available:

  • A follow-up framework is available for the existing information container. The follow-up framework for the information container has many advantages. Compared to the obsolete information container, the new information container is able to deal with mass data and enables you to send bundles of messages. The new framework also makes it easier to enhance information categories for the standard software on a customer-specific and modification-free basis, or to develop your own information. We recommend that you now convert to and use the new information container. SAP is no longer developing the information container that is being replaced.

The new information container provides you with the new information container 0001 Returns, and provides the following insurance-specific information categories:

    • V001 Dunning

    • V002 Customer-initiated payment

    • V003 Quotation monitoring

    • V004 Insufficient deposit coverage

For more information, see Information Container.

  • Brokers and insurance processors can use an easy-to-use proposal/confirmation principle to process broker reports with web applications. For more information, see Broker Report Processing with Web Applications.

  • You can extract business partner items and the dunning history with a delta update function for Business Intelligence.

  • You can determine information about benefit-free periods with the service interface InsuranceContractBenefitFreePeriodByInsuranceContractIDAndClaimPeriodQueryResponse_In. Benefit-free periods occur for an insurance contract if open items are dunned and defined dunning levels are reached within the appropriate dunning procedure, with a dunning level category ’Benefit Exemption’ or ’Legal Proceedings’. As an alternative to the service interface, you can call up the RFC-ready function module VKKMA6_CHECK_INSOBJECT_BFREE (Output Information About Benefit Exemption for an Insurance Object) directly from your own application.

  • You can clear provisional premium receivables automatically with Collections/Disbursements. For more information about clearing, see Clearing Provisional Premium Receivables.

  • You can choose whether you want to use dunning by dunning procedure for insurance companies or dunning by collection strategy for Contract Accounts Receivable & Payable. Dunning by collection strategy enables dunning of receivables with flexible collection strategies tailored to each customer. These reduce the Days Sales Outstanding, the processing time for a collection transaction, and the number of write-offs. Compared to dunning by dunning procedure for insurance companies, dunning by collection strategy in Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable allows you to use the Business Rule Framework to control follow-up steps, and to reverse the dunning procedure. It also enables capacity planning. You can use dunning by collection management for flexible dunning, and to group items for dunning. You can create, process and manage collection work items. You can distribute these work items to worklists. You can manage these worklists and create a collection history. For more information about dunning by collection strategy, see Collections Management. For more information about the selection of the dunning procedure that you can use, see Dunning.

  • In the Financial Customer Care scenario, you can process business transactions for Collections/Disbursements in the scope of functions for the SAP CRM Interaction Center.

For more information about integration with SAP CRM, see Integration with Customer Relationship Management (CRM). For more information about the Financial Customer Care Scenario, see Business Transactions in Financial Customer Care.

  • You can enter promises to pay for due or overdue receivables, which you agree in outbound collection with your customers, directly in the system. You can accept, authorize, manage, and evaluate the promises to pay.

  • You can let Collections/Disbursements process coinsurance shares for the statistical items from the category G Other Statistical Charge delivered by the payment plan interface. This allows you to transfer coinsurance-relevant statistical subrogation/recovery receivables from a claims system to FS-CD. If the customer makes a payment, corresponding G/L items and coinsurance shares to be transferred occur. For more information, see Processing Coinsurance-Relevant Statistical Items.

  • You can define company codes and main and subtransactions that the system is to handle with the debit principle in coinsurance reporting.

  • To calculate withholding tax and take exemption applications into account, you can connect Collections/Disbursements to SAP Captial Yield Tax Management (CYT). For more information, see Tax Calculation for Interest Revenue from Deposit Contracts. For more information about SAP Capital Yield Tax Management (CYT), see the documentation for this component under   SAP for Industries   SAP for Banking   SAP Banking   SAP Banking Services   SAP Capital Yield Tax Management (CYT).

  • You can use the payment plan interface for one-time payment plan items (in the dialog for processing the insurance object, tab page PPI Doc. II) to process coinsurance supplements. Using the coinsurance supplement has the advantage that you only need to create one payment plan item that contains the coinsurance supplement for all coinsurers (with coinsurance keys and associated shares). The posting document that occurs contains a business partner item with the total amount for the posting and multiple G/L items with the coinsurance shares for the participating coinsurer and the share for the lead company.

  • You can use quotation monitoring to inform external systems about whether a customer has accepted a quotation for premium change.

  • To reduce the pressure on your database, you can use new archiving objects - for promises to pay, external payment information, collection worklist and collection work item.

  • The archiving options for existing archiving objects have also been enhanced:

    • When you archive insurance objects, the system also archives the associated entries for business partner transfer for payment plans (table VVSCTRANSFER) . No further checks take place.

    • When you archive payment plans, the system also archives the associated entries for coinsurance shares (table VVSCPOSCOINS). No further checks take place.

  • In Customizing for broker collections, you can now define subcategories for the specified categories in the broker report (premium, claim, commission, costs), and assign these. The subcategory is a separating attribute when grouping open items to broker report items. For more information, see Category and Subcategory for Broker Reports.

  • You can define a reference to lead objects on the insurance object. No processes in Collections/Disbursements are based on the object reference - the field is for information purposes only.

  • New Enterprise Services are available in the Enterprise Service Repository as XI interfaces to the software components FI-CA and FS-CD.

You can find the appropriate XI interfaces to FI-CA under   FI-CA 603 -> http://sap.com/xi/FICA/Global -> Service Interfaces  :

    • CashPointPaymentReverseNotification_In

    • InsuranceDunningProgressionBulkNotification_Out

  • You can use the Business Applications Programming Interfaces (BAPIs) for the broker report, the contract account and the insurance object as released BAPIs.

  • The payment run takes a write-off limit agreed with customers into account at contract account level.

  • In the SAP Easy Access menu für Collections/Disbursements under   Account   Repost Payment on Account to Clarifcation  , you can repost individual items posted on account back to the clarification account. This makes clarification processing for payment lots easier and reduces processing time in clarification. For more information, see Clarification Processing (Payment Lot).

  • When creating an installment plan, you can update the creditworthiness of a business partner and include the payment behavior in the creditworthiness. For each installment plan category, you can define a creditworthiness value that the system adds to the associated business partner. For more information, see Deferral and Installment Plan.

  • To improve customer service, you can use SAP Enterprise Services to connect external cash desks to Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable, therefore simplifying invoice payment for end customers. For more information, see Processing Payments to External Cash Desks.

  • To improve transparency, you can use balance variants in the account balance display.

For further information, see the release note 'INS_FSCD_CI_1: SAP for Insurance: Collections/Disbursements 1 (New)” (FSCD_603_INSCD_M).
