With this business function you can use the warranty claim processing functions in the Dealer Portal for the Automotive Industry. The Dealer Portal facilitates the cooperation and communication between original parts manufacturers, importers, car distributors, and car dealers. It serves as the central point of communication between car dealers and the back-end system for processing warranty claims from original parts manufacturers or importers.
The Dealer Portal for the Automotive Industry is based on Web Dynpro for ABAP.
With the Dealer Portal, Veh. Mgmt. Syst., Spare Parts, Enterpr. Serv. (AUTO_DP_1) business function, you can use additional functions for vehicle sales and spare parts procurement in the Dealer Portal. Enterprise Services for sales orders and vehicles are also available.

You have activated the Enterprise Extension Industry-Specific Sales and Distribution Enhancements (EA-ISE) and the Warranty Processing for the Dealer Portal (WTY_DP_1) business function in your back-end system.
You have defined an RFC destination in the back-end system so that the Dealer Portal and the back-end system can communicate.
To enable and monitor access to the Dealer Portal, you have made the following assignments. On the SAP Easy Access screen, choose

In this step you define a logical system and assign it to a back-end system. You can assign the back-end system to the local system or to an RFC destination.
Assign partners to systems
In this step you assign the partner (dealer) that you created as a customer in the back-end system to a logical system.
Assign users to partners (dealers)
In this step you assign users that you created in the back-end system to one or more partners (dealers).
You have made the necessary Customizing settings for warranty claim processing in the Dealer Portal. To do this, choose

You can create, change, simulate, and copy warranty claims. You can also create warranty claims with reference to a service contract so that all incurring costs are posted to the service contract.
You can search for warranty claims with return parts and create return details for the parts. You can also print lists of parts to be returned and labels for them.
You can search for recalls and display detailed information. You can create a new warranty claim for a recall and copy the data from the recall to the new claim.
You can search for warranty claims by using various search criteria or the warranty claim status. You can sort the results list, display warranty claims, and call additional functions.
You can register vehicles and parts and define a warranty start date and assign a master warranty. You can also assign an end customer to vehicles.
You can display warranty claims in PDF format and print them.
You can display and print dealer-specific financial reports that contain information such as claim volume, claim value, and reference documents.
You can tailor the warranty claim processing display in the Dealer Portal to meet your user-specific requirements.
