Knowledge-Base Profile
Definition
Knowledge-base profiles are part of the knowledge-base object. A profile determines how a product (whose master data is grouped together in the knowledge-base object) is configured with the Configuration Engine.
Use
You use the knowledge-base profile to determine how the configuration process is started, specify the type of class used, and refer – if they exist – to settings for the configuration user interface.
You can define one or more profiles for a knowledge-base object. By using several profiles, you can group several materials together in one knowledge base. In this way, runtime versions can be generated more quickly, particularly if the affected materials have objects in common, such as variant tables.
