Collaboration Task Notification Settings
Purpose
The collaboration task can provide notifications using either the KM notification service or the JavaMail transport service.
You can also specify a new notification channel.
Notifications are sent to the tracker(s) of a task. Collaboration task provides its notifications using one of two mechanisms, which can be specified in the Workflow configuration:
● If installed with Knowledge Management (KM), collaboration task will use the KM Notification service, which can be configured to use various channels including e-mail and internet.
● Additionally, collaboration task can use JavaMail to provide notifications. This option is available whether KM is installed or not. If JavaMail is to be used, a mail server and any required authentication must be entered in the Workflow configuration.
When a task is created using the collaboration task wizard, the creator can specify the conditions under which notifications are to be sent:
● None
No notifaction is sent.
● When Complete
When a task has been completed, a notification is sent.
● On Updates, Completion, and if Overdue
When the task has been completed or updated or if it is overdue, a notification is sent.
Make sure that all settings are set correctly in Knowledge Management settings (System Administration ® Knowledge Management ® Content Management ® Global Services ® Show Advanced Options ® Notificator Service).

Example
Following is an example of a collaboration task notification.
The format is not configurable - when a task has been updated or completed, any changed task attribute is displayed in bold. If the third notification option is chosen, task creation is considered an update and will generate a notification. For example: A Workflow task has been completed.
