External List Upload
This function enables data to be uploaded from the application server file to the SAP CRM database tables for External List Management (ELM).
This function is also applicable for high-volume data.
Prerequisites
High-Volume Scenario
To be able to upload marketing prospects as an external list, a new category called marketing prospects has to be selected as the mapping format.
Activities
To execute this step, select
Read File
and specify the start data.
NoteOnce business partners or marketing prospects have been created in the step Business Partner Maintenance and Marketing Prospect Creation respectively, you cannot repeat the step

.End of the note.Errors occurring during the upload of the file into the database table are logged. If errors are logged, the traffic light next to

is red and a hyperlink is available. Error details can be viewed by clicking the hyperlink.If you select the data file from the workstation, a temporary application server file is created. After the
Read File
step is successfully completed, the temporary application server file is deleted. Further processing for this external list is done using the data from the SAP CRM tables. NoteIf you select the data file from the application server, the data is not deleted after you have uploaded the file successfully.
