You can link a problem of a given problem type, or a solution to one or more business objects such as specific products, pieces of equipment, and technical installations.

Prerequisites

Your system administrator has defined the business object types to which a problem of a given problem type, or a solution can be assigned. This is done in Customizing for Customer Relationship Management, by choosing Start of the navigation path Enterprise Intelligence Next navigation step Solution Database Next navigation step Problems Next navigation step Define Business Object Types End of the navigation path. A business object type is a category such as products. The business object is the instance of that category, for example, product 123.

You have specified a problem type when maintaining the problem.

Activities

Linking a Problem to a Business Object
  1. Specify a problem type and choose Enter.

  2. Choose Add Business Objects.

  3. In the dialog box that appears, select the relevant business object type and choose Enter.

  4. In the dialog box that appears, specify the business object ID and choose Enter.

The business object is assigned to the problem. You can display the business object by double-clicking it in the tree structure.

Linking a Solution to a Business Object
  1. Click the Linked Business Objects tab page.

  2. Choose Create and follow steps 3 and 4 above.

The business object is assigned to the solution. You can display the business object on the Linked Business Objects tab page.
