Object List
You enter objects in the object list, for which the contractual services defined in the service contract item can be claimed.
The object list is used by business transactions in service to determine service contracts. Provided that this type of contract determination is set up in Customizing, the service contract items with an object list containing the reference object are determined when a business transaction is created. For more information, see Service Contract Determination.
After an installed base or installed base component is entered in the object list, in installed base management, you can display all available contract data for each installed base and check the contract assignment. For more information, see Assigning Service Contracts to Installed Bases.
In the object list, you can enter the objects that belong to a contract item, for which the contractual services defined in the service contract item can be claimed. Installed bases, installed base components, objects, and products can be used, for example, as elements of this object list.
Note
Whether or not the object list is displayed depends on the item category that is assigned to the service product in the service contract item. If, for example, the item category is one that was defined for service contracts or service plans, the object list appears.
You can create entries in the object list as follows:
In the object list, you can use Create Object
to create a new object and then assign it or enter existing elements.
You can create a new object in the service contract overview in assignment block Items
by using Create Object
. Then, you can assign the object either to an existing object with field Reference Object ID
, or to an existing product in field Reference Product ID
.
The system enters the new object or an assigned object or product automatically in the Object List
at item level in the first row. If you were to assign another object or product to the same item, it would overwrite the object or product in the topmost row in the object list.
In usage-based service contracts, you can also create the object as a subitem of a usage-based contract item. However, we recommend that you no longer use this method.
The button Proposal for Service Plan
proposes services that you can select for the reference object that you marked in the object list of the service contract item. For more information, see Product Proposal for Service Plan Items.
The button Proposal for Product List
displays a list of the associated services and service parts for the reference object that you selected in the object list of the service contract item. From this list, you can transfer them into the product list. If the element in the object list is a product or object that was downloaded from SAP ERP that has an assigned bill of materials (BOM) in SAP ERP, all BOM materials also appear as service parts.
For more information, see Replication of Bills of Material from SAP ERP to SAP CRM.
You can check if other service contract items already exist for the object in the object list. If this is the case, the system issues a warning message. You can activate this check by using an implementation of the BAdI CRM_ORDPRP_I_BADI
, method CRM_ORDPRP_I_CHECK
. SAP Note 2072521
contains an example implementation that you can use as a template.
