Example documentationATP Check Using PASS

The following example shows how the ATP check (availability check) takes the PASS into consideration.

The Safety Stock field in the sales order is set to Calculate - FMD and SS Protected if No Time Series Exists or Calculate - Stock Not Protected if No Time Series Exists.

The PASS is calculated. The time series for the PASS is created in SAP APO, for the safety stock and for the forecasted demand.

PASS:

200 x 10% + 500 x 20%

= 20 + 100

= 120 pc.

Available for the availability check:

1000 – 120

= 880 pc.

Therefore, only 880 pieces can be confirmed for the sales order. There is a remaining requirement of 20 pieces.

Caution Caution

The standard safety stock can also be maintained and taken into consideration for the availability check. However, in this example, it is not. It is merely used as a basis to calculate the PASS.

End of the caution.
