Process documentation Consuming Content as Remote Delta Links  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Purpose

In remote delta link mode, a content administrator on a NetWeaver portal (the consumer) browses the Portal Catalog of a remote NetWeaver portal (the producer) and creates remote delta links to relevant roles, worksets, pages, and iViews. Once the remote delta link objects have been created locally as remote delta links on the consumer portal, a content administrator manages this content as local objects.

Process Flow

      In the Portal Content Studio, the content administrator on the consumer does the following:

                            a.      Browses the Portal Catalog of the remote NetWeaver portal and copies the relevant content as remote delta link objects to the local Portal Catalog.

                            b.      Configures and tests the remote delta link content, embeds it in local content (pages, worksets, and roles), and then assigns it to local users on the consumer.

      Alternatively, a system administrator can create remote delta links on the consumer using an XML script.
