Defining ERP as Leading System (Data Exchange Scenarios X, Y, Z)

Use

The data exchange scenarios X, Y, and Z allow you to define your ERP system as the leading business system , and make changes to sales transactions there only.

Note Note

Features

The functions described under Data Exchange for Sales Transactions: CRM Enterprise – ERP-System apply. In addition, you can use the following functions:

Data Exchange Scenario X:
  • You can change transactions that were created in SAP CRM and transferred to the ERP system in CRM Enterprise. The changes are then transferred to the ERP system again.

  • If you make a change in the ERP system, the original system of the document is changed from CRM to ERP. The document then acts as though it had originally been created in the ERP system. You can find more information under Data Exchange for Sales Transactions: CRM Enterprise – ERP System .

Data Exchange Scenario Y:
  • Transactions created in SAP CRM are transferred to the ERP system. If necessary, data is redetermined in the ERP system when the transfer takes place, for example pricing. This data is then returned directly to the CRM transaction.

  • You can continue to process the transaction in SAP CRM, and any changes that you make are transferred to the ERP system. If redetermination takes place in the ERP system for these changes, the redetermined data is not returned to SAP CRM.

  • Other changes in the ERP system are not returned to SAP CRM.

Data Exchange Scenario X + Y:

You can activate data exchange scenario Y together with X. After changes are made to the document in the ERP system, it then becomes an ERP document.

Data Exchange Scenario Z:
  • Transactions created in SAP CRM are transferred to the ERP system. The original system of the transaction is automatically changed from CRM to ERP when the first transfer to the ERP system takes place.

  • If any redetermination is necessary, the transaction is transferred to SAP CRM. The document then acts as though it had originally been created in the ERP system. You can find more information under Data Exchange for Sales Transactions: CRM Enterprise – ERP System .

Data Exchange Scenario X + Z:

You can activate data exchange scenario X together with Z. In this scenario, new CRM transactions become ERP documents straight away. Old CRM transactions become ERP documents if postprocessing occurs in the ERP system.
