Use

The system can automatically determine the business partner (for example, sold-to party or contact person) from the user ID the Internet user uses to log on to the Web shop.

Example

Ms Thomas, an employee at the company Y-Design, places an order using B2B Internet Sales with the company Johnson Electrics. When she logs on with her user ID Thomas1, the system reads the contact partner number 123 from the user master record for Thomas1. This contact person number is assigned to customer 1024, Y-Design. Therefore, the system creates the order from Ms Thomas as an order from customer Y-Design, Cardiff.

Features

User Types for ERP E-Commerce

You can decide how you want to create and manage your Internet users. You can use the following types of users in ERP E-Commerce:

     SU01 User (transaction SU01)

This is the ‘usual’ SAP user master record.

     SU05 User (transaction SU05)

This is a special user master record for Internet users. It only contains the user ID and the user type (the relationship between user and customer master record).

Caution

It is not possible for SU05 users to use Single-Sign-On (SSO). Therefore, SAP recommends use of SU01 users.

You can find further information on processing Internet users under Structure linkCreate and Maintain Internet Users.

Log-On Types for Different Business Processes

Depending on the business process variant you are using (for example, Sales Order Processing B2B in ERP E-Commerce), different relationships are possible between the Internet user and the actual sold-to party (for example, user ® customer number, or user ® contact person at customer ® customer number). These relationships are represented in the system by different user types and log-on types.

Depending on your R/3 release and the business process variant you are using, you can make use of the following user types and log-on types:

B2B Web Shops (for example, in the business process Order Processing B2B in ERP E-Commerce)

The Web shop users log on with their user IDs. Using the user ID, the system automatically determines the customer for which the user works.

You can find further information about possible log-on types and the required settings under User Types in B2B Web Shops.

Note

When a user (for example, agent) can act on behalf of several customers, the system cannot automatically determine the customer from the user ID. In order for the agent to be able to choose the customer for whom he or she is currently working in the Web shop, special settings are required.

If the agent is an internal user of your company, you need your own user type. You can find more information about the settings for internal users (Sales Order Processing B2B for Internal Users in ERP E-Commerce) under User Types for B2B Internal Users.

You can find more information about the settings for external sales partners under Configure Relationship Between Sales Partner and Customer.

B2C Web Shops (for example, in the business process Order Processing B2C in ERP E-Commerce)

In B2C Web shops the users log on with their e-mail address.

You can find further information about possible log-on types and the required settings under User Types in B2C Web Shops.

     Shop Management

The Web shop manager has access to special authorizations for managing the Web shop. Therefore, he should have an SU01 user master record.

You can find further information under User Types in Shop Management.

Activities

You decide whether you are going to use SU01 users or SU05 users before you create users.

You maintain relationships between users and customers or contact persons

In the SU01 user master record by choosing References

In the SU05 user master record in field Type
