Displaying/Editing Objects

Use

You can allocate numerous characteristics to the organizational objects in an organizational plan. Select an object in the selection area or overview area so that you can display the characteristics of the object in the detail area and, if required, edit them.

Prerequisites

You are familiar with Validity. Select a key date and preview period.

It can be that the detail area is hidden. In order to display and edit object characteristics, you may need to redisplay the detail area using .

Procedure

Selecting and Displaying Objects

You can select objects either in the selection area or in the overview area:

In the overview area, select an object by double-clicking on it.

Note

You can only select an object from the selection area if you have already searched for one or more objects in the search area.

The object itself is displayed in the overview area. In CRM the organizational objects are displayed in a structure display, that displays an organizational structure as well as the assignment of each organizational unit to the subordinate positions and their owners (employees or users). The following can be displayed:

Employee

The employee shown in the organization structure is a business partner with the business partner role Employee.

User

If the user name is defined in the employee master, it is automatically assigned when the employee is assigned.

You can display the exact evaluation path for the current display using .

To move up a level within a displayed structure, choose .

In the overview area, double-click on an object that is displayed in a structure or list.

The data for the selected object are displayed in the detail area.

Scrolling

In the overview area you can scroll through the displays using and . If you have already made changes to data but have not yet saved them, you can use and to undo or recreate the last change.

In the detail area, you can use and or and to scroll through the periods that exist for an object.

Editing the Characteristics of an Object

In the detail area you can edit the characteristics of the object you selected.

Select a tab page.
Make the appropriate entries.

For organizational units the following tab pages are available:

The tab page Basic data contains

description of an organizational unit
details of the subordinate positions
details on the validity period
a field for entering a description of the organizational unit

You can define two addresses on the Address tab page. Only the first address, however, is copied into the business partner master for the organizational unit.

The tab page Type

displays whether the organizational unit is activated for a scenario. An active organizational unit is taken into account during the determination of organization data using organizational model. You can improve the performance of organizational data determination by activating/deactivating organizational units. Select a scenario in the Scenario for Attribute Maintenance field.

The symbol is displayed when the organizational unit is active in the selected scenario. This means that this organizational unit was found for transactions in this scenario during determination using the organizational model.

The symbol is displayed when the organizational unit is not active in the selected scenario. The organizational unit for transactions in this scenario is not taken into account during determination using the organizational model.

contains information on whether the organizational unit is a service or sales organization and shows the corresponding R/3 organizational units for the selected unit. These units are used to compare data with the R/3 System. The details depend on the scenario selected (Service or Sales).

offers a consistency check for the attributes on this tab page and on the Attribute tab page.

On the Attribute tab page

you can activate or deactivate the selected organizational unit for a scenario in the overview area. Choose a scenario and change the symbol Object released for the scenario using the button . You can activate an organizational unit for several scenarios.

you can maintain attributes for the selected organizational unit. These show who is responsible for the organizational unit. which attributes are available for selection depends on the scenario

The tab pages Basic data, Type and Attribute are available for positions.

You can process the tab page Basic data.

On the Attribute tab page you can activate the selected position for one or more scenarios.

The attributes are inherited from the higher-level organizational unit to the position and can only be displayed.

Data cannot be changed in the detail area for employees and users. You can find detailed information on employees in the master record for the business partner.

After processing on the Basic data tab page a appears.
