Function documentation Billing Process in SAP CRM  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

You can use this function to bill for leases. Based on the criteria you enter, such as billing type and document number, the system selects the billing request items (BRIs) from the leases and transfers these to CRM billing.

Prerequisites

In Customer Relationship Management (CRM), you have made the required Customizing settings for billing. For more information about billing in CRM, see Billing Execution.

In the Sales and Distribution (SD) and Financial Accounting (FI) components in the ERP system, you have created the billing-relevant master data – such as products (financing products and physical products) and partners (sold-to party, ship-to party, bill-to party, and payer) – that is used in the leases in CRM.

Features

When you edit the billing due list, you use search criteria to specify which leases or BRIs you want to edit.

Note

During selection, the system includes all BRIs that meet your selection criteria and have the status Released and For Billing when you start the program run.

The system displays the selection result as a list of all relevant BRIs. You can then select and bill the required BRIs.

The BRIs for which the system has created billing documents have the following statuses in the lease:

       Released

       Transferred to Billing

       Billed

You find the billing document number in the document flow for the lease.

If you settle lease items only, CRM can transfer the billing documents either to accounts receivable accounting or contract accounts receivable and payable. For more information, see Update of Lease Items.

If your leases contain lease and service items, the system transfers the leasing documents from CRM to agency business for further processing. For more information, see Billing in Agency Business.

Activities

You find the transactions for billing on the user interface in the Billing area.
