Configure Organizational
Data
You can use this procedure to implement the Author Relationship Management scenario and create a system landscape for this scenario, which covers the general requirements of a book publisher described in the Best Practices for the Author Relationship Management document. The configuration steps used to create the organizational data required are described below.
The procedure described here can be used as an example. Analyze your existing organizational structure in ERP and extend this structure for the Author Relationship Management Scenario according to your requirements.

The procedure described here is based on the following assumptions:
● An existing sales organization that you want to re-use here is available in ERP.
● You want to define a new distribution channel for rights acquisition in ERP.
● You are using the general division (00) in ERP and CRM.
● You are already using a purchasing organization in ERP, which you want to re-use here.
● You want to create a new organizational model in CRM.
Note
that you can also represent the sales structure(s) for the corresponding ERP
System as an organizational structure automatically in CRM. To do so, choose
the following path in the SAP Implementation Guide
(IMG): Customer Relationship Management
® Master Data
® Organizational Management ® Data Transfer ® Copy SAP ECC Sales Structure.
The organizational data in the royalties contract is determined according to the organizational data model and the assignment of users to the items or organizational units.

Define
Distribution Channel for Rights Acquisition
You can use this IMG activity to create a new distribution channel for rights
acquisition. To do so,
choose the following path in the IMG Enterprise Structure
® Definition ® Sales and Distribution ® Define, copy, delete, check distribution
channel
Now enter a two-digit alphanumeric key and a name.

You can use this IMG activity to assign your distribution channel for rights

Define
Divisions
You can use this IMG activity
to define divisions for the CRM System. To do so, choose the following path in
the IMG: Customer Relationship Management ® Master Data ® ® Organizational Management® Division Settings ® Define Divisions.
SAP supplies the general division 00. You do not need to make any additional
entries here.

Define Dummy
Division and Division Usage
You
can use this IMG activity to define whether you want to work with or without
divisions in CRM. Enter initial for division not
active, initial for header division
active and 00 for dummy
division.
The Intellectual Property (04) product type does not have a
division.
Intellectual Property Management does not therefore use any sales areas. It
uses distribution chains, which consist of a sales organization and
distribution channel.

Define
Distribution Channels
You can use this IMG activity
to define distribution channels. To do so, choose the following path in the
IMG: Customer Relationship Management ® Master Data ® Organizational Management
® Organizational
Data for the Sales Scenario ® Define
Distribution Channels. Create Rights Acquisition as a new
distribution channel.

Define
Combination of Distribution Channel and Division
You can use this IMG activity to define combinations (data set) of a
distribution channel and division. You can then assign the combinations that
also apply in your leading system as attributes.
To do so, choose the following path in the IMG: Customer Relationship
Management ® Master Data ® Organizational Management ® Organizational Data for the Sales Scenario
® Define Combination of Distribution Channel
and
Division. Enter Rights Acquisition as the distribution
channel and 00 as the
division.
5.
Create
Organizational Model
You can use this IMG activity to create your organizational model in
CRM. To do so, assign attributes to your organizational units and map
to the sales organization in ERP, which is to correspond to this CRM sales
organization. During the data transfer to the ERP System, the system assigns
the documents and business partner master records with this CRM sales
organization to the ERP sales organization recorded here.
To create an organizational model, choose the following path in the IMG:
Customer Relationship Management ® Master Data ® Organizational Management ® Organizational Model® Create Organizational Model.
Make the following settings:
a. Create a root organizational unit by defining the validity period.
b. Enter an ID code and a general description of your company on the Basic Data tab page.
c. Enter the address of your company.
d. Activate all attributes on the Attributes tab page. Enter sales as the scenario for attribute maintenance, the country where your company is located as the country, and your local currency as the reference currency.
e. Create a new lower-level organizational unit. To do so, select the root organization and choose Create in the toolbar.
f. Enter an ID code and a general description as the organizational unit on the Basic Data tab page.
g. Enter an address.
h. Access the Function tab page. Select sales and then sales organization. Enter the data for your sales organization in ERP to which the new data is to be assigned under R/3 sales organization.
i. Access the Attributes tab. Enter sales as the attribute maintenance scenario. Select Object Permitted in Determination. Enter the country where your company is based as the country (inherited). Enter your local currency as the reference currency for the document (inherited). Enter 00 as the division, rights acquisition as the distribution channel, and rights acquisition 00 as the data set (distribution channel, division).
j. Create the positions that are assigned below the Organization for Rights Acquisition organizational unit .

Assign the business
partners to the positions.
Prerequisite: You have already created business partners in the
Employee role and assigned the respective users to them.

6.
Maintain Control
Data for Organizational Units
You can use this transaction to edit the control data for your organizational
unit Organization for Rights Acquisition. To do so, choose the
following path in the SAP Easy Access menu: Master Data ® Business Partners ® Maintain Business Partner.
There are three ways to access the organizational unit
required:

Wenn Sie die gewünschte Organisationseinheit aus der Gesamtliste aller Organisationseinheiten auswählen möchten, wählen Sie auf der Registerkarte Suche die gewünschte Organisationseinheit mit Doppelklick aus.
a. If you want to select the organizational unit required directly, choose Open BP in the toolbar and enter the corresponding ID.
b. If you want to find the organizational unit required using various parameters, enter parameters such as city or postal code under Business Partner.
c. If you want to select the organizational unit required from the overall list of all organizational units, select the organizational unit required by double clicking on it on the Find tab page.
Now edit the tax classification on the Identification tab page.
