Represent License Acquisition Scenario for
IPM
Technical reasons require you to represent the purchasing organization data using a sales organization in Intellectual Property Management.
During data maintenance for the business partner, product and license acquisition contract, you assign the distribution chain (combination of the sales organization and distribution channel defined previously).

You can only assign distribution chains and not sales areas for Intellectual Property Management. For more detailed information, see the document Division Settings for IPM.

Note that integration with SAP ERP Central Component requires the purchasing organizations in your ERP System to also be represented as sales organizations. You must define the mapping accordingly in the SAP CRM System in the Implementation Guide under Customer Relationship Management ® Master Data ® Organizational Management ® Organizational Model.
