The Knowledge Management layer is built on top of the repository framework. It provides the functions and UI that are visible for end users as the Knowledge Management capabilities of SAP NetWeaver.

The Knowledge Management layer consists of:

·        Services that support users in carrying out tasks related to resources. These are:

¡        Global services for applications

¡        Repository services for applications

·        The index management service that enables access to the search and classification functions offered by the TREX engine.

·        The flexible UI framework that enables customized rendering of navigation iViews.
