Assigning Software Components to a Build Variant

Use

You have configured a build variant and want to assign software components (SCs) to it.

Prerequisites

You are in Landscape Configurator.

You have configured a build variant.

You have selected the relevant track and you are in change mode.

Procedure

To assign one or more SCs to a special build variant, proceed as follows:

       1.      Choose the Build Variant tab page.

       2.      Select the build variant to which you want to assign the software components.

       3.      Choose Assign SCs … The Assign Software Components to Build Variant dialog box appears. The table header shows you the selected software component and its validity in the track. The Software Components dropdown menu shows you the selected SCs that you can assign to the build variant.

       4.      Select the relevant SC in the dropdown menu and choose Add. The SC is entered in the table.

You can also use the Add All function to add all SCs from the dropdown menu to the table in a single step.

       5.      Repeat the previous step for all SCs that you want to assign to the build variant.

       6.      Choose Finish.

       7.      Save your changes.

Result

You have assigned one or more SCs to a build variant. The next build in Component Build Service (CBS) will build the SC in this build variant.
