Use

The Report Designer is a tool that you use to format and adapt the layout of your business data according to your needs in the form of a report (static or dynamic). You can then display it in the Web. If necessary, you can later convert the report to a PDF document in order to print it and/or distribute it. In this way, you can design the layout of a corporate balance sheet, for example, according to your needs and then print it as a PDF document.

The data connection for the report is provided by queries and query views.  According to the drilldown state of a query or query view, the Report Designer then generates group levels that contain the row pattern for the initial report view. The layout and formatting of the initial view can be adapted to suit the customer's needs and wishes.

Integration

The Report Designer is a standalone desktop application. You can open the Report Designer directly from the start menu or call it in the Web Application Designer using the context menu of the Report Web item.

For more information on reports in Web applications, see Structure linkReport.

Note

In order to create a report, a structure must be used in the columns of the underlying query or query view.
