Transferring BI Content DataSources into Active Version 

Use

The DataSources delivered by SAP with BI Content are in the source system in the SAP delivery version (D version). If you want to transfer data from a source system into BI using a BI Content DataSource, you have to first transfer the data from the D version into the active version (A version).

BI Content DataSources of a source system are only available to you in BI for transferring data, if you have transferred these in their active versions in the source system and then replicated them in BI.

Procedure

●     To transfer and activate a DataSource delivered by SAP with Business Content, in transaction SBIW in the source system choose Business Information Warehouse à Business Content DataSources or Activating SAP Business Content àTransfer Business Content DataSources. For more information on this activity, see the documentation for customizing extractors.

●     When activating BI Content in BI, you can also activate DataSources remotely from the BI system. This activation is subject to an authorization check. You need role SAP_RO_BCTRA. Authorization object S_RO_BCTRA is checked. The authorization is valid for all DataSources of a source system.

Remote activation is not supported in source systems and/or in BI systems with a BI Service API release lower than SAP NetWeaver 2004s. In this case, you have to activate the DataSources in the source system manually and then replicate them to the BI system.
