Attribute Maintenance
Attributes act as a description of a product / individual object and are assigned to set types. This functionality is only available in the SAP GUI.
You can only use an attribute if it is assigned to a set type. Use the function Maintain Set Types and Attributes for this. For more information, see Set Type Maintenance.
An attribute is defined by its attribute type (such as integer, string or date), its attribute length and its value range (optional), such as single values or intervals, or by a value table.

Define the attribute Screen Diagonal as follows:
Attribute |
ZSCREENDIAGONAL |
Short Text |
Screen diagonal |
Attribute Type |
Integer |
Length |
3 |
Single Values |
17, 19, 21 |
The following tab pages are provided:
· You can enter the attribute type and attribute length, or alternatively, a value table here. When you enter a table name, the fields Attribute Type and Attribute Length are filled by the system.
· You can define attributes with single values.

Assign the attribute Color the values Red, Green and Blue. These values are single values, that is, the car can be red, green or blue.
· You can also define the attributes as multi-value attributes. The product or individual object concerned then has several values for the given attribute at the same time.

Assign the attribute Optional Extras the values Radio and Sunroof. This is a multi-value attribute, that is, the car can have both a radio and a sunroof.
To mark an attribute as having multiple values, you must set the flag Multiple Values in its definition. By doing this you have, however, not yet created a multi-value attribute. The flag is necessary for technical reasons. Once this flag is set, several values are now possible for the attribute and it has to be technically set up for this purpose. To actually be able to use the attribute as a multiple value attribute, you must define it as such by setting the flag Multiple Value when assigning it to a set type.
· Attribute short texts can be created in several languages.
· You can specify single values or value ranges for an attribute.
You can define and restrict value ranges and default values for attributes at category level (for more information see Category Maintenance
· Short texts for single values and value ranges can be created in several languages.
If an attribute has already been assigned to a set type you can only change the attribute short text, set the flag Multiple Value and add single values or value ranges.
You can only delete an attribute if it is not assigned to a set type.
