Personalization of Attribute Lists in the
Segment Builder
Attribute lists are created by database specialists using the transaction Maintain Data Sources for Segment Builder. However, within the Segment Builder, you are also able to edit these attribute lists by adding or removing attribute values for specific attributes, and by creating new filter conditions. You can do this without needing a database specialist (see Segment Builder: Background Information). You can store these additional values as your own personalized list, accessible only to you in the Segment Builder.
You can personalize attribute lists by specifying:
· Additional attribute values

You have an attribute list using attributes from the attribute set
"Favorite Sports". Only four of the possible six values for this attribute are
currently visible in the list: "Soccer", "Tennis", "Baseball", and
"Volleyball". In the Segment Builder, you call up this attribute list and add
the remaining values "Golf" and "Basketball".

For those attributes for which attribute values have already been defined, you
can only select from these possible values: once all these values have been
selected, no further filters can be set. Whether or not you are able to create
new values for attributes will therefore depend on the definition of the
attribute. For more information on this, see Working with
Attributes.
· Filter conditions for attributes in attribute lists deriving from the data sources InfoSet query or BI query

Your attribute list contains business partner master data including the
industry sector of your business partners. For the attribute "Industry
sector", you create a filter condition rule restricting the possible values to
business partners within the United States.

For the BI attribute "Sales data", you create a filter condition restricting
the query to the first three months of the current fiscal year.

1. Start the Segment Builder and select an attribute list.
2. Place your cursor on one of the attributes in the list.
3. From the context menu, choose either Create Filter or Edit Filter Conditions.
4.
Select or
create the appropriate attribute value(s) or enter the relevant values for the
filter condition, and choose Enter.
You can use the Ctrl key to select several values simultaneously.
The new attribute values are displayed below the attribute.
5. To include these new values as your own personalized values, place your cursor on the original attribute selected and from the context menu choose Save Personalized Values.
6. To delete personalized values, place your cursor on the attribute and choose Remove Personalized Values.

Personalized values are not marked as such within the attribute list. To
identify your own personalized values more easily, you could therefore add for
example a "P" to those attribute values that you wish to use as personal
filters.
