Enhancement of the Product Master and Business Transaction 

As the number of attributes and set types required is very large, you can use an enhancement concept: You can create new attributes and set types and integrate these in both the product master and business transactions.

The complete process is therefore supported by the system in the business transaction, from the enterprise-specific definition of products right through to a customer-specific instance of a product.

The following functions are available in the enhancement concept:

●     You can create new attributes and set types (COMM_ATTRSET). For more information, see Set Types and Attributes.

This function is only available in the SAP GUI.

●     To use set types in the product master, you assign them to categories. For more information, see Category Processing.

This function is only available in the SAP GUI.

●     To integrate set types in business transactions, you use the Easy Enhancement Workbench (EEW). You can either integrate set types that you also use in the product master, or assign set types for processing only in the business transaction.

Note that the set types shipped by SAP are already integrated in business transactions and you cannot change this integration.

●     To be able to distribute new set types to the connected backend systems via SAP NetWeaver Exchange Infrastructure (SAP NetWeaver XI), you must manually enhance the XI interfaces.
