Initial Replication of Product Catalog Contents 

Use

This function enables you to transport product catalog data (products, texts, pictures etc) to the index server for the first time. You can replicate all or individual product catalog variants.

The index server functions as a database, in which all catalog-relevant indexes are stored.

Integration

You can connect search engines to the index server. Internet Sales uses TREX (Text Retrieval and Information Extraction) as standard for Latin 1 languages.

Prerequisites

       1.      You have created a product catalog. See also Creating Product Catalog.

       2.      You have activated all product catalog data.

Features

·        The product catalog contents that are replicated to the index server are available for the Internet Sales application.

·        You can publish multimedia objects from the product catalog directly from the CRM system to the Web server

Activities

·        Start initial replication (see Starting Initial Replication).

·        Only perform change replication for changes once you have initially replicated product catalog data. See Change Replication of Product Catalog Contents

If you create new catalog types or make other changes in Customizing after initial replication has taken place, you must carry out initial replication again.
