Modifying an index definition

® Right-click ® Change

Toggles to the change mode. As a result, you can modify the index definition.

When you modify an index definition, the state of the index definition changes to inactive.

Displaying an index definition

® Right-click ® Display

Displays the index definition details.

Copying an index definition

® Right-click ® Copy Index

Prompts you to specify a new index ID and name for the index definition.

·        The new copy is created in the same table. Therefore, you cannot copy an index definition to another table.

·        To copy an index definition, the index definition must be active. However, if you copy an inactive version of an index definition for which an active version exists, the previously active version is copied.

 

Deleting the inactive version of an index definition

® Right-click ® Delete Inactive

Deletes the inactive version of the index definition.

Deleting the index definition

® Right-click ® Delete Index

Deletes the index definition irrespective of whether it is an active or inactive version.

If a customer modifies and activates an SAP index definition and you delete the index definition, only the customer modifications are deleted. The index definition is not deleted.

Activating an index definition

® Right-click ® Activate

Activates the index definition. When you activate an index definition, the state of the index definition changes to active. In addition, if an open transport request exists for any other index defined on the same table, the index definition you activate is added to that transport request. However, if no open transport request exists, you are prompted to specify the transport request for the index definition.

You can generate the index on the mobile client only after you activate the index definition in the CRM server.

Transporting an index definition

Adds the index definition to an open transport request (if existing for any other index defined on the same table). However, if no open transport request exists, you are prompted to specify the transport request for the index definition.

Displays the sequence of navigation when you work with the application.

Activating full screen display

Hides the tree and navigation window (if invoked) and displays the application on the entire screen.

Index ® SAP <-> Customer

Toggles between the SAP and customer versions of an index definition.

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text

·        When the customer modifies an index definition, a customer version is created for the index definition.

·        You can toggle between the two versions only in a customer system.
