Process documentation Customization of the Companion Business Logic

Purpose

This process describes the steps required to customize and reuse the business logic, which has been modeled for a mobile client application, for a mobile client companion. You can reuse the development objects such as business objects and combo engines that are modeled using Mobile Application Studio (MAS). However, you must modify these objects to adhere to the modeling guidelines of a companion.

Process Flow

       1.      MAS users create business objects only if they are not modeled already for a mobile client application. If they are modeled, the users reuse them as data sources for the tiles. For more information about modeling a business object, see Structure linkModel a Business Object.

       2.      MAS users identify the business objects and the corresponding relationships that they want to reuse for a companion. Users must create additional parameters that are specific to the companion for each business object relationship.

For more information, see Business Object Relationship for a Mobile Client Companion.

       3.      MAS users identify the combo engines and the corresponding hierarchies that they want to reuse for a companion. Users must add PDA parameters to the combo engine and modify hierarchies, if required.

For more information, see Modeling a Combo Engine for a Mobile Client Companion.
