Product Configuration in the Sales
Transaction 
Use
You can configure configurable products in the sales transaction. The configuration from a quotation can be copied to a sales order.
The actual configuration of the product takes place in the Internet Pricing and Configurator. You call the interface up from the sales transaction. If the Internet Pricing and Configurator is not available, the product cannot be configured.
Using the Internet Pricing and Configurator, you can configure products in a Web environment and execute pricing for this. You use master data for this that you download from your SAP R/3 System or transfer directly from the CRM Online System. The Internet Pricing and Configurator combines the functions of the Sales Configuration Engine (SCE) and the Sales Pricing Engine (SPE).
This function is available to you in CRM Enterprise, CRM Mobile and in the Interaction Center WinClient.

The evaluation of the variants on the Basic data 2 screen for the material master is relevant for SAP CRM. The evaluation that is maintained on the Materials Planning 3 Screen is relevant for SAP R/3. For this reason, deviating plant-dependent evaluations are not supported in SAP CRM. This means the evaluation in the Basic data 2 screen must correspond to the evaluation in the Materials Planning 3 screen.
Settings in SAP CRM:
· You have created a product and flagged it as configurable.
· You have set up an item category for which the configuration data is maintained.
· You have maintained the settings for the BOM (bill of material) explosion in Customizing for item category.

Activities
...
1. You enter a configurable product.
2. In the item detail you select the Configuration tab page. The interface for the configuration of the product in the Internet Pricing and Configurator is displayed on this tab page.
3. Assign the required values to the characteristics of your product.
4. When you have completely configured your product, go back to the sales transaction.
5. Continue the transaction processing required and save the transaction.
