Working with Individual Objects
(People-Centric UI)
The product master allows you to search for individual objects using various selection criteria. Individual objects you wish to work with frequently can be added to your favorites list and removed when required. You can display individual objects and their data, and create and change them in a simple manner by working through the tab pages in the lower half of the screen.
Search for individual objects using either:
● My Favorites
Displays all individual objects you have included in your favorites list.
● Central Search
Search according to one of the following selection criteria:
○ Alternative ID
○ Business Partner
○ Counter ID/Description
○ ID/Description
○ Reference Product ID
● Advanced Search
Search using a combination of selection criteria:
○ ID/Description
○ Object Family
○ Alternative ID
○ Reference Product ID
○ Business Partner
○ Partner Function
○ Category ID
○ Status
You can also search using measuring points and address.
Alternative IDs can be used in the quick search to search for individual objects. The entries you need to make depend on your settings in Customizing (SAP Products ® Alternative Product IDs ® Assign ID Profile to People-Centric UI):
● Only one ID type was assigned in Customizing.
This means that you can enter the value of the alternative ID directly without specifying the ID type.
● More than one ID type was assigned in Customizing.
This means that both the ID type and value need to be entered. The distinction between the two is indicated by a separator, which can be specified in Customizing for each ID type (Alternative Product IDs ® Define ID Types).
For example, you can search for a vehicle using the vehicle identification number (VIN) by entering VIN:3345*.
All vehicles are found whose VIN begins with 3345.
You can find out which ID type(s) is assigned in the advanced search using the input help on the Alternative ID Type field.
● You can display, create, change, and copy individual objects. You can maintain conditions for individual objects and attach documents.

Bear in mind that the tab pages available depend on the product type and role with which you are working.
● You can create relationships to partners on the Partners tab page.
● You can create relationships between individual objects and products. To do this, go to the Relationships tab page and select the relevant relationship type in the dropdown list box.
● You can create an individual object and assign it a reference product. This will allow you to reference its business and technical data. Referenced product data can only be displayed. For more information, see Referencing Data from Products.
●
The structure for
individual objects can be maintained in the Installed Base (IBase) by going to
the Object Structure (or Components) tab
page. Note that individual objects can also be created directly in the
Installed Base (for more information, see
Individual Objects in
Installed Bases).
● Organization-dependent data can be maintained for individual objects on the Distribution Chains tab page. After selecting a distribution chain, the sales data can be maintained at the lower tab level on this page.
● Customer-defined set types can be maintained for individual objects on their own tab pages, corresponding to the views assigned to them in category maintenance (SAP GUI). If a set type is organization-dependent, it is shown on its own tab at the lower level on the Distribution Chains tab page.
