Background documentation Installation of Groupware Integration Components Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Groupware integration facilitates the exchange of data between SAP CRM and a Groupware system. You need to install the following required components for this:

     SAP MapBox

This component is an XSLT-based mapping framework that is part of the SyncPoint technology and executes the required data conversion, that is, it converts the BDoc messages to the standard Groupware format (iCalendar and vCard).

Note

The SAP MapBox can only be connected to one CRM server.

If you want to implement Groupware integration, you must first begin with the installation of these components. You should always install the newest MapBox version, we therefore recommend the installation of SAP MapBox SP09.

You can find the installation guide required for this in the service market place under http://service.sap.com/instguides → mySAP Business Suite Solutions ® mySAP CRM ® mySAP CRM 2005 ® CRM Core and Standalone Components or mySAP Business Suite Solutions ® mySAP CRM ® SAP CRM 4.0 ® General and Technical Installation Guides.

This guide contains information on prerequisites, initial configuration and additional SAP MapBox settings. There is also information available about starting the SAP MapBox and the smoke test.

The following table contains a number of SAP Notes about the SAP MapBox that offer especially detailed information about solutions to problems that can occur during installation and runtime:

Note

If problems occur in connection with the SAP MapBox, you can create a customer message with the component CRM-MW-MBX.

For performance reasons, you should install the SAP MapBox and the SAP NetWeaver Application Server Java, which contains the SAP J2EE Engine, on a separate machine.

     SAP Groupware Connector

This component is, like the SAP MapBox, part of the SyncPoint technology and executes the message synchronization between the CRM server and the Groupware server using a messaging interface. This makes the two-way replication of data between the CRM server and the Groupware server possible.

SAP provides two SAP Groupware Connectors, one for the Microsoft Exchange Server and the other for the Lotus Domino Server. The SAP Groupware connector consists of the following components:

     SAP Groupware connector

     SAP Groupware connector proxy

Note

The SAP Groupware connector can only be connected to one CRM server.

The connection with the Groupware server can, however, take place using one or more SAP Groupware connector proxies. The SAP Groupware connector proxies are installed after the SAP Groupware connector.

We recommend that you install the SAP Groupware connector and the default instance of the SAP Groupware connector proxy on the machine in the same Local Area Network (LAN) as the CRM server (SAP Groupware Adapter). You should install additional instances of the SAP Groupware connector proxy in the respective LAN node of the Wide Area Network (WAN).

You can find detailed information about installation conditions in the installation guide as well as in the SAP Groupware Connector administration guide under http://service.sap.com/instguides mySAP Business Suite Solutions ® mySAP CRM ® mySAP CRM 2005 ® CRM Core and Standalone Components or mySAP Business Suite Solutions ® mySAP CRM ® SAP CRM 4.0 ® General and Technical Installation Guides..

Note

Before you start the connector installation, you must ensure that you know all the parameters to be specified during the installation. You can find a detailed description of how to obtain information about these parameters under Determine Parameters for the Groupware Adapter.
