Use

Product Registration enables web users to notify a vendor of product purchases. They supply the vendor with customer, product and purchasing information that can be used for customer profiling and to activate a warranty.

From the registered product list, Web-user can create service requests and complaints for their registered products.

 

Prerequisites

In order to register a product, web users must log in using a registered Internet account.

 

Features

Web users access a form where they enter all relevant registration data for the product. After the product registration is submitted, the product is registered within the SAP CRM System and the warranty is determined.

The information gathered during product registration can include:

·        Customer Information

·        Product Information(customizable):

¡        Product type (for example. notebook, printer, PC)

¡        Product (for example, XT2000, TPG-203b)

¡        Unique identifier (serial number)

·        Purchase Information: (customizable)

¡        Purchase date

¡        Location of purchase

¡        Name of selling company

¡        Purchase price

Product registration can be offered by the manufacturer, or by selling vendors in the supply chain such as retailers and resellers.
