Use

You use replication to transfer serial numbers from SAP R/3 Customer Service (SD) to mySAP CRM.

Integration

Data transfer is triggered in mySAP CRM and performed by CRM Middleware.

To use this function, you require the following releases:

·        SAP CRM 4.0 SP02 (with active CRM Middleware)

·        SAP R/3 DIMP 471 Enterprise (with Plug-In 2003.1).

Prerequisites

Before replicating serial numbers from SAP R/3, you must perform the following tasks:

·        Define the standard settings for replication in the IMG activity: Customer Relationship Management ® Master Data ® Installed Base ® Replication of Equipment from R/3 Customer Service ® Define Default Settings for the Equipment Replication.

·        Download materials and business partners from SAP R/3 to mySAP CRM.

·        Optionally, use the Equipment Download (CRM_EQUI_LOAD) Business Add-In to enhance the data transfer and validation in mySAP CRM. The Add-In offers comprehensive options for influencing the mapping between equipment and individual objects.

Note

For more information see Customizing: Customer Relationship Management ® Master Data ® Installed Base ® Replication of Equipment from R/3 Customer Service ® Business Add-In: Equipment Download

Features

·        Pure serial numbers (serial numbers not associated with a piece of equipment) are represented in mySAP CRM as individual objects.

·         Associated business partners are transferred and linked to their corresponding serial numbers.

·        Serial numbers are available for CRM Online (only).

Activities

SAP R/3 serial numbers and associated business partners appear in mySAP CRM after the initial load. The initial load is used to transfer the initial data. The delta load transfers new serial numbers and associated business partners created in SAP R/3 after the initial load has occurred.

Caution

Changes to the already transferred serial numbers are not allowed. See note 637173 on how to handle such changes.
