Function documentation  Infocenter Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

This function allows you to view your SAP Enterprise Portal Infocenter content in an offline capability. This guarantees fast access to information at a specific time, thereby accelerating the execution of your business processes.

                 

Integration

·        Integration between the Proactive Portal Server and the Content Management function within SAP Enterprise Portal supports offline accessibility for mobile client users.

·        Infocenteris integrated with mobile client applications, such as Mobile Sales, Mobile Service, and Mobile Service (R/3 Edition).

 

Prerequisites

·        You have an SAP Enterprise Portal user ID and password.

·        For an initial login to Infocenter, you must be connected to SAP Enterprise Portal:

...

                            a.      Open Infocenter from your mobile client application.

                            b.      Register for offline content.

You are prompted to enter a user ID and password.

                            c.      Synchronize your data with SAP Enterprise Portal using ConnTrans.

The data is downloaded from SAP Enterprise Portal to your mobile client.

  Note

The next time you open Infocenter you do not need to register or login.

 

Features

·        Interface Commonality

Infocenteracts as an offline portal and has the same look and feel as when you are connected online with the Infocenter on SAP Enterprise Portal. This simplifies a user’s experience.

·        Access Options

Access Infocenter from the navigation bar in your mobile client application. You can also access this offline content through your web browser by double-clicking on the Infocenter icon on your status bar.

·        Search Features

Search for any topic, file or message that you receive either by date, file type, or file name.

·        View Documents

View the documents in the same hierarchical structure that you have maintained in the Infocenter workset on SAP Enterprise Portal.

·        Preview Options

Preview details on any message, file, or news that you receive. You can also view the date and name of the person who published the file.

Note 

You cannot add, delete, or modify any content offline. You can only publish new files and modify existing content when you are connected to SAP Enterprise Portal. You will find more information on Content Management in SAP Help Portal under SAP NetWeaver ® mySAP Enterprise Portal.

·        Notifications

Informs you of changes and new features through notifications and alerts. They inform you when your offline content has been updated. Flash Alerts are animated notifications that usually appear at the bottom of your screen, so you can continue with your current tasks and open the message when it is convenient.
