You can create steps that form part of a Business Process Flow (BPF). For guidelines on defining steps and substeps, see Criteria for Defining Steps and Substeps.

Prerequisites

The necessary settings have been made in the Setup BPF screen of the template creation interface.

Procedure

Defining Steps

From the Define Steps/Sub-Steps screen, choose Add and provide the following information in the dialog box that appears:

Name

Provide a title for the step.

Instruction

Provide a description of what is to be done in the step.

Enable Reviewers

To allow a review action for the step, select the checkbox.

To define an action that a reviewer must perform when reviewing the step, see Defining Actions.

Allow Reopen

To allow authorized users to reopen a step, select the Yes radio button.

Define Step Region Criteria

Provide information about the driver dimension, owner and reviewer property, and the dimension members.

Opening Criteria

Select the appropriate radio button to open by All Step Regions or Matched Step Region.

Defining Sub-Steps (Optional)

From the Define Steps/Sub-Steps screen, select an existing step and choose Add New Sub-Step. Provide the following information in the dialog box that appears:

Provide a title for the substep.

Provide a description of what is to be done in the substep.

Note Note

You cannot define properties here as this is only relevant at step level.

Result

You have created steps and substeps for your BPF. To define actions, choose Next. You can define actions for steps that do not have substeps. For more information, see Defining Actions.
