You use this component of Planning and Consolidation to access several Planning and Consolidation features such as Business Process Flows, My Settings, the Content Library, Live Reporting, and Insight.

Integration

Since this component is entirely web-based, you do not need to install the client components to use Interface for the Web. However, certain features require the Planning and Consolidation for Office installation for full functionality (such as Business Process Flows).

Features

You can start Interface for the Web from the Launch page (or go to http://<server>/osoft) by choosing Interface for the Web.

If the client components are installed, you can start Interface for the Web from another component in the Available Interfaces section of the action pane.

Interface for the Web provides the following features:

  • Open a business process flow. For the Microsoft version, see Business Process Flows. For the NetWeaver version, see Business Process Flows.

  • Launch System Reports. See System Reports.

  • Change the language in which you see the Interface for the Web interface text and messages, as well as member descriptions in Interface for Office. See My Settings.

  • Post web pages to the content library, and share files between other Planning and Consolidation users.

  • Send an e-mail notification. Use the pop-up window to enter the desired information. You can attach files to e-mails.

  • Access existing reports and create new reports. See Live Reporting.

  • In the Microsoft version only, you can access your KPI information using Insight. See Monitor Variances, KPIs, and Predictions with Insight.
