This function enables the creation of journal templates and Customizing of validation settings.

Work status settings must have been defined for consolidation application sets and applications.

Creating the Journal Template

You can create a journal template in Admin Console by launching the application and choosing Journals. For more information, see Journal Template Creation.

Note Note

Once you have created the template, you cannot delete either dimensions, nor any data from the application.

Setting Up Validations

Validations ensure that invalid records are not saved to the application from any source. It is not possible (or supported) to save data to an application without going through validation. This applies not only to journals, but also to all data manager packages and manual data input. For example, this makes it impossible to write an intercompany account with an empty Trading Partner dimension in the application.

In the NetWeaver version of the system, you can configure the validation framework and customize the validation rules business requirements in the SAP ABAP system GUI using transaction UJ_VALIDATION.

You define validation rules business requirements in the Configuration screen.
