Example documentationScenario Zero Balancing with Return Posting of Total Balance

In this scenario, the system posts the balances of the subaccounts back to the subaccounts once the cash pooling has been completed successfully with different posting dates. Depending on the rule selected, this posting is either executed with the posting date on the day of the cash pooling, or with the posting date on the day afterwards. The system credits the funds on the subaccounts in both cases one day later for the value date-based balance, making the value date-based balance EUR 0.00. If you use the rule SAP 0061000, the system uses the posting date on the cash pooling day to post the entry, meaning that the posting date-based total balance remains on the subaccount even after the cash pooling. If you use the rule SAP 0062000, the system return posts the total balance to the subaccount using the day after the cash pooling as the posting date, meaning that the posting date-based balance is not available until the next day on the account.

Prerequisites

To represent this scenario in the system, you need to define the following rules in the settings for each account:

  • Main Account

    • No rule

  • Subaccounts

    • SAP0011000 (Surplus Clearing)

    • SAP0012000 (Deficit Clearing)

    • SAP0061000 (Total Balance Replenishment (Current Posting Date)) or SAP0062000 (Total Balance Replenishment (Future Posting Date))

Note Note

You cannot combine the rules SAP0061000 (Total Balance Replenishment (Current Posting Date)) and SAP0062000 (Total Balance Replenishment (Future Posting Date)) with the rules SAP0052000 (Fixed Target Balance on Subaccount) and SAP0051000 (Constant Balance on Subaccount).

End of the note.

Note Note

We recommend that you use the cash pooling method BVPF only in combination with the rule SAP0062000 since the system changes the posting date-based balance of the subaccount to EUR 0.00 through the return posting. This is not the case in the combination with rule SAP0061000 if the balance of the subaccount is not EUR 0.00.

End of the note.

Example Example

  • Example 1

Daily execution of zero balancing: Rule SAP0061000

The value date-based balance of a subaccount is EUR 2,000.00 (credit). The system posts this entry from the subaccount to the main account and then back again with the same posting date (and value date + 1).

  • Example 2

Daily execution of zero balancing: Rule SAP0062000

The value date-based balance of a subaccount is EUR 2,000.00 (credit). The system posts this entry from the subaccount to the main account and then back again with a posting date + 1 (and value date + 1).

  • Example 3

Weekly execution of zero balancing: Rule SAP0061000

Day 1: The value date-based balance of the subaccount is EUR 0.00.

Day 2: The system posts EUR 100.00 to the subaccount.

Day 3: The system posts EUR 200.00 to the subaccount.

Day 4: The system posts EUR 300.00 to the subaccount.

Day 5: The system posts the three amounts during cash pooling to the main account, taking into account the relevant value date. Next, the system posts the total balance of EUR 600.00 back to the subaccount. This posting uses the posting date from day 5 and the value date from day 6.

    Note Note

If you used rule SAP0062000 in example 3, the system would return post the total balance of EUR 600.00 for the value date-based balance and the posting date-based balance.

    End of the note.
End of the example.
